The median home price in Florida is $2,900, and the average annual cost of a condo is $1,842.
A luxury condo in Florida costs $4,000 to $5,000 more than the median home in the state, and a luxury vacation home in Florida has an average price tag of $3.5 million, according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
A vacation home can be rented for up to 12 months at $7,500 per month, according the Realtor.com website.
Florida has more vacation homes than any other state, with more than 100,000 of them in the Sunshine State.
The state has some of the most vacation homes per capita in the country, with a median home worth $4.6 million, the Reampedia.com site reported.
Many of the more affordable vacation homes are located in the Miami area.
Miami-Dade has more than 1,400 vacation homes, with nearly a quarter of them being located in Miami.
Miami Beach has more homes for sale than any county in the nation.
The city has a median sale price of $2.2 million, and nearly half of those homes are priced above $2 million.
The other most affordable vacation towns are Broward and Palm Beach.
The two have about the same number of vacation homes for rent, but the former has the most homes on the market.
There are nearly 10,000 vacation homes available for sale in Broward County.
Palm Beach has about 2,700 vacation homes.
