LUXURY SUVs and SUVs with premium materials and features, like the Bentley Continental GT, are the most popular luxury vehicles.
The Bentley Continental, which is a sports car with a premium interior and features such as the power door locks, is the second-most popular luxury vehicle with $8.3 billion in annual sales, according to data from Kelley Blue Book.
The BMW M3, another luxury sedan with a sporty exterior, is second with $6.4 billion.
The Ford Focus and Chevrolet Volt have the third and fourth most popular vehicles, respectively, with $3.4 and $1.7 billion in sales each, according the Kelley Blue Books.
The Cadillac CTS-V, which has a luxurious interior and a low price tag, is third with $2.5 billion.
Luxury luxury cars are a big draw for young couples, and couples have also been buying SUVs for longer than younger couples, according and experts.
“They’re much more comfortable, they’re more spacious, they have the best amenities,” said Jeff Zavala, senior analyst with Kelley Blue House.
“It’s a perfect combination for the lifestyle consumer.”
The luxury brands that are most popular among the younger demographic are the Volkswagen Golf, Chevrolet Tahoe, Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, BMW 4 Series and Lexus RX 350.
Luxurious SUV sales are on the rise for many other car brands.
In the first six months of 2017, luxury brands sold more than 13 million vehicles, according Luxury Car Sales.
